Hawai'i Hijinks
The grand ballroom of the Royal Palace on Hilo, Kingdom of Hawai'i, is the last place one would expect to find a collection of air pirates. However, last night's galahosted by none other than King Kalaniana'ole himselfwas attended not only by Hawai'ian, British and Japanese dignitaries, but also by members of the Fortune Hunters gang, as well as the infamous Medusas. Though King Kalaniana'ole declined to be interviewed, one source close to the Royal family said: "His Majesty welcomes anyone who could be of service to the Crown." Many speculate that, as the negotiations for control of Pearl Harbor grow increasingly tense, the King may hire on mercenaries and privateers to augment the island's defenses. The Medusas have occasionally sold their services as combat pilots to the highest bidder, and, after several skirmishes with the Hollywood Knights and other North American militias, the Kingdom of Hawai'i is clearly an attractive place for the gang to hole up. The presence of Nathan Zachary and his Fortune Hunters gang is considerably more unusual; Zachary has not, to date, sold his services as a privateer to any nation-state. In fact, in the previous year, Zachary was linked to Lucas Miles, the reputed architect of the "Akwesasne Massacre" in the northern portion of the Empire State. Zachary refused to comment on his involvement with the alleged mass murderer. However, fellow Fortune Hunter, Jack "Jack-o" Mulligan had this to say: "Lucas Miles is dead, and that rat got what he deserved." Though Miles' death has not been confirmed, the Fortune Hunters' zeppelin, The Pandora, was reportedly heavily damaged in an aerial engagement involving another combat zeppelin over Cuba late last year. It would appear that these two master criminals had a fatal parting of the ways. Anna Carllyle, Special Correspondant, Air Action Weekly
