B.A.S. Names New Chief Investigator for Manhattan
Blake Aviation Security, the continental leader in private aviation security and investigation, today named Douglas Moore, 48, as the new Chief of Investigations for their Manhattan bureau. Moore has been one of Blake's top investigators for three years, cracking a number of cases despite seemingly overwhelming obstacles. "Douglas is a superior investigator and manager, and I expect that in his new role he will leave no stone unturned in his pursuit of criminals, bootleggers, and air pirates on behalf of our clients," said Paladin Blake, founder of Blake Aviation Security. Empire State Regional Director Robert Claypool echoed Mister Blake's praise of Moore, saying "Douglas is a top-notch investigator with a real nose for hounding out the facts of a case." Moore is an ace with nine confirmed kills. Although he transferred from a Blake fighter squadron three years ago to work for Chicago Bureau Chief Eliot Ness, the fighter pilots of the BAS squadrons are reported to have great respect for Moore as a pilot and a fighter. Moore is rumored to have been up for a posting to the Imperial Air Guard squadron before he transferred to the Chicago Bureau. Moore apparently picked up his skills as a pilot as an airmail pilot after the Great War, and later worked as a barnstormer for air shows across the American Mid-West. His training as an investigator came originally about ten years ago when he took up work as a private detective in Gary, Indiana. After several cases in conjunction with the Chicago Blake Aviation bureau, he was offered a job as a detective pilot. Empire State police seemed surprised at Moore's promotion over the heads of Empire State citizens in Blake's employ, even though Moore has been an agent on assignment in the Empire State for over a year. Moore, a native of the I.S.A., must register as a resident alien before he can take up permanent employment in the Empire State, and must take an oath of non-interference in Empire State internal affairs, per Presidential Order #1178-34. Moore's political statues may be one of several stumbling blocks in dealing with Empire State clients. ![]()
