Plot Against Royal Family Discovered

Aloha Radio reports that King Jonah Kuhio Kalaniana'ole has issued an order to "expel all British citizens from the islands, properties, territories, and holdings of the Kingdom of Hawai'i for acts of war and piracy against the Royal Family, holding Hawaiians prisoner under threat of death, and asserting an illegal military presence in sovereign Hawaiian territory." The British Ambassador and his diplomatic staff are exempt from the order, for reasons of diplomatic immunity. The Hawaiian police have issued guidelines for the conduct of British citizens during the expulsion, and have granted 48 hours to gather personal possessions and finish their business before they report for deportation.

Under the order any non-diplomatically protected British citizen found in the Hawaiian Islands is subject to prosecution as a spy and insurgent, with a possibly penalty of 10-25 years at hard labor or death.

The order for expulsion follows the "discovery of a British invasion force, including British war ships, planes, and troops in the sovereign territory of the Kingdom of Hawaii." The British invasion force was apparently discovered by air pirate Nathan Zachary, who has lately been active in the Hawaiian Islands. Exactly how Zachary discovered the British forces and why he became involved with Hawaiian politics is not clear (though many have speculated that King Kalaniana'ole has been courting known pirates to serve as privateers).

Zachary has had several run ins with the British in Hawaii recently, including bombing a British expeditionary force, stealing a "Balmoral" bomber, and apparently attacking a British submarine. Rumors are flying about Zachary's involvement, ranging from the bizarre to the romantic, including reports that Zachary attacked the British to rescue the Hawaiian princess from captivity at British hands and that Zachary has actively refused a large cash reward for his actions.

The announcement follows several days of escalating tensions between the Hawaiian government and the British delegation to the islands after it was revealed that the British have recently had several warplanes in Hawaiian air space and landed troops on Kapuahi, a small island under Hawaiian control.

The Home Office of the British Empire had no comment on the expulsion. This series of events seriously undermines the British government's bid to secure rights to Pearl Harbor, and the British negotiators have been expelled from the leasing negotiations. The expulsion of the British leaves the Nation of Hollywood, Empire State, and the Empire of Japan the leading contenders for the leasing of Pearl Harbor.
