The marauding Medusas Gang is currently a hot ticket for fortune seekers. After heisting the famous Hope Diamond from a swank shindig in Manhattan, gang leader Justine "Battle-Axe" Perot stuck around to give Empire State Ace Loyle Crawford a few lumps, and dropped a wing of Empire State Air Militia in the Atlantic. In the wake of that brash robbery, President La Guardia slapped a $10,000 reward on the head of gang leader Justine "Battle-Axe" Perot. Most gangs would take that as a sign to keep their heads down, but it didn't stop the Medusas from putting in a flashy appearance at a Miami horse racing track, buzzing the field with their zeppelin, The Gorgon.
Witnesses say the Medusas ascended rope ladders to board the moving zeppelin as it passed dangerously low over the crowd, causing horses to bolt and patrons to make for the exits. Seconds later a mysterious plane emerged from a stable and flew off in the same direction as the pirate zeppelin. The Confederate Air Corps was too late on the scene to catch any of the participants.
Nervous track officials counted their receipts, but found nothing missing from their funds. The Medusa Gang's reason for being at the track is still unknown.
