Bombers Trade Blows

Scandal is nothing new to the Broadway Bombers, especially not to Loyle "Showstopper" Crawford, and as long as the good Captain keeps it up, these Society pages will never run dry (no pun intended).

Patrons of the exclusive Club Nine in Manhattan were witness to an unexpected bit of entertainment, in the form of a few rounds of impromptu fisticuffs between some of the Empire State's finest. Club Nine is a regular watering hole for the Broadway Bombers, especially the Madison Venturers, but in the wake of recent reorganizations in the Empire State Air Militia, some members of that group have been spread around to other units. Apparently they've taken their rivalries along for the ride.

According to one witness, the brawl started with a heated exchange between Showstopper and former Venturer Heather "Ivy" Iverian (now a wing leader in the 5th Manhattan Militia). Their argument featured one very interesting name: Justine "Battle-axe" Perot, leader of the infamous Medusas gang. The details aren't clear, but it's bound to have something to do with the pirate gang's theft of the Hope Diamond, during which Showstopper and Battle-Axe clashed.

It was reported that prior to the robbery Showstopper and Battle-axe shared drinks and were, shall we say, friendly. Certainly matters weren't helped by the fact that Battle-axe paused on her way out of town to blast Ivy's Avenger out of the Manhattan sky and send her for a swim in the Atlantic. But the cold water wasn't enough to damp the fire in this lady. Could there be a flame of jealousy beneath Ivy's cool exterior? Can we add one more name to the long list of ladies who'd rather see Showstopper in a box than in the arms of another woman?

Only one thing is sure: these pages haven't seen the last of Captain Loyle "Showstopper" Crawford. Not by a long shot.
