Nathan Zachary, the new terror of the skies in the West, blazed a trail across the Nation of Hollywood last week in a series of bold raids targeting Colossal Pictures, a Hughes-owned movie studio, apparently in response to recent comments by studio executive Johnny Johnson.

In his first raid the air pirate kidnapped movie star Lana Cooper, holding her for several days before Johnson agreed to an undisclosed ransom, rumored to be a six-digit figure. The current Colossal Pictures epic, "Baroness of the Air" remained idle while Zachary kept Cooper, and production has yet to resume as of this writing. In the course of the kidnapping Zachary and his gang shot down several Colossal studio security autogyros and a Fury response squadron, and overcame a Hollywood Knights squadron before escaping unscathed.

Shortly after, Zachary stole the Hughes Aircraft experimental all-wood framed HK-1 Hughes Flying Boat, commonly called the "Spruce Goose," from its storage bay at the Colossal Pictures studio lot, where it was being kept for a press conference. The enormous experimental seaplane was developed as a test model for large frame airplanes as a possible rival to zeppelin shipping. Zachary apparently managed to land one of his gang, the Fortune Hunters, in the studio lot to pilot the Goose out to sea. The theft went with nary a hitch for the Fortune Hunters, who managed to overcome not only additional Hughes air security but also the Metro Marauders squadron, led by Hollywood hero Major Charlotte Steele.

Zachary's next attack on Hollywood is yet to be seen, but authorities have entered a high state of alert, hunting high and low for the Fortune Hunters and their tramp zeppelin, the Pandora. Spotters across the Nation of Hollywood are pulling double shifts and scout planes are barely touching down for refueling between patrol sweeps. Reports of the Pandora are trickling in from time to time, but so far no contacts have been reported. The Hughes Air Guard is coordinating with the Hollywood Knights squadrons, including the Flying Foxes, Metro Marauders, and Golden Lions are standing by at all hours to respond to the next Fortune Hunter sighting.

Zachary's days seem numbered unless he can somehow escape the noose of justice tightening around his neck.
