The despicable Black Hat gang attacked the Empire State luxury liner Arcadia yesterday in an attempt to kill a vital witness scheduled to appear before a grand jury today in the ongoing investigation into the connection between German nationals and the Black Hat gang. International adventurer and air pirate Nathan Zachary rescued the witness—whose identity is a closely guarding secret—and delayed the Black Hat attack sufficiently to allow the majority of the passengers and crew to evacuate.

Twenty-three passengers were killed either in the battle or the crash. Although the Black Hat attack was apparently intended to get the star witness, they seem to have gone out of their way to strafe passenger compartments even after Zachary recovered the anonymous witness.
