BRITISH BOMBERS DOWNED BY I.S.A. Brits Issue ApologyWhile flying from Toronto to Thunder Bay, Ontario, a trio of Bristol Type 140 Balmorals accidentally strayed into I.S.A. territory in bad weather over Lake Superior. An interceptor squadron, "The Marauders," from the airfield at Marquette on the south shore of the lake, responded to reports that bombers had approached the shoreline. "We radioed the other aircraft several times, but they failed to respond, and refused to change course." said Lt. Sonnegard of the Marauders. "One of my pilots got too close and got a couple of .30-cal rounds through his wing. That's when I made the decision to engage them." Two of the Balmorals crashed into Lake Superior and have not been recovered; the third crashed on Isle Royale. The pilot of that aircraft was seriously injured and is recovering in a hospital in the I.S.A. at this time. He will be released to the British authorities when his condition permits him to travel. ![]() Hauptmann Erich Fleischera special advisor to the I.S.A. Air Militiacondemned the British for the incident, stating: "The British government has complete responsibility for this tragedy. While Germany offers only advice to our allies, Britain again shows her true colors by sending planes and soldiers to threaten foreign nations. My government will continue to support the I.S.A. in defending themselves against British imperialism." ![]() In the wake of global outrage over covert British military action in the Kingdom of Hawai'i, the British government was quick to label the incident as an accident. The Royal Air Force issued a formal apology to the Industrial States for the incursion. Others, however, are quick to point out the Hauptmann Fleischer is an officer in Germany's Luftwaffensonderkorpsan elite Luftwaffe division with air, naval, and ground units attached to it. "German forces were present during the recent Black Hats / Sacred Trust, Inc. scandal in the Empire State," points out aviation security specialist Paladin Blake. "This is really a case of the pot calling the kettle black."
