Texas Air Militia planes have found no trace of the Lone Star Air Transport zeppelin Francine Rose following a bold night-time skyjacking by the Medusas Gang. It appears that several gangmembers managed to sneak aboard during a stopover in Oklahoma City. During the return flight to Texas, they waited until the middle of the night and made a move to take over the bridge. A false fire alarm caused the crew to abandon the ship, and the Medusas made a clean getaway.
Several of the zeppelin's crew were injured during the incident, and at least one crewman is missing and presumed dead. Lone Star Air Transport has one of the best security records of any American zeppelin service, but this incident will definitely put a stain on their record. Captain Joshua Wilcox has been suspended from his duties pending a full investigation of the incident, and a review of his decision to give the order to abandon ship.
Lone Star Air, as well as Texas officials, are placing the blame squarely on the Captain's shoulders: "There's no question that Captain Wilcox did what he thought best at the time, but the fact remains that the ship was lost," said Lone Star's Chief of Security, Frank Satchell. "We can't give up our ships to pirates without making them pay for it. Lone Star will be hiring Blake Aviation Security to provide additional protection for our ships until we can beef up our own security. We will not lose another zeppelin on my watch. You have my word on that."
