Nathan Zachary—the leader of the rogue Fortune Hunters gang—continued his bold assault on Lucas Miles and his criminal organization yesterday, when he intercepted a force of Sacred Trust, Inc. cargo zeppelins smuggling materiel and Black Hat pirates to an awaiting flotilla of German zeppelins. The German air fleet had allegedly been sent to intercept the fleeing STI zeppelins and escort them to Germany. Zachary's fast action in crippling the cargo zeppelins in Empire State air space prevented the STI goons from evading justice and provided a firm link of physical evidence in the chain around Lucas Miles neck.

Nathan Zachary, continuing his war on the Sacred Trust, Inc.—Black Hats conspirators last night defeated a strike force of German Hellhound fighters attempting to recover accused German agent Lucas Miles. According to sources within the Empire State military, Zachary uncovered an unspecified number of German military airships in international waters, perilously close to the Empire State's airspace.

Reports vary widely in regards to the size of the German armada, however. Some sources claim that at least five Beowulf-class airships were present, accompanied by at least three surface destroyers and an unknown number of fighters and support craft. Others claim that only a single zeppelin, part of a covert operation in North America, was nearby.

The German ambassador to the League of Nations has declined comment, as have President LaGuardia and several of his chief advisors. However, the Broadway Bombers' premier squadron, the Madison Venturers, has been placed on full alert in the wake of this incursion into Empire State airspace, and militias all over the nation are scouting the borders to safeguard against German aggression.

Neighboring nations are also on a heightened state of alert, concerned that the increased activity will give air pirates and smugglers enough of a screen to mask their notorious doings. A few border encounters with neighboring nations have been reported, although no actual border skirmishes have broken out.
